A very eloquent and charming fellow, who has the keen knack of creeping out the Shinsen members due to his rather disturbing... behavior regarding Hijikata and Kamiya Seizaburou.
The thing is, though he is a married man, Itou cannot help himself from mooning over beautiful young men - much to the chagrin of his objects of affections.
On the surface he may be a creepy weirdo, but don't let that silly personage fool you. His true face is one of a crafty, sly schemer. He is not to be trusted completely,
as there seems to be something up on his sleeve. Just what is Itou really planning?

For the record, the real historical Itou was not a bisexual, although he was at odds with Hijikata.
